Getting Started

What are mockup templates and how do they work?

Mockup templates are professionally photographed product images with special "Smart Object" layers that let you insert your own designs. Simply open the PSD file in Photoshop, double-click the Smart Object, paste your artwork, and save—your design automatically fits the product with realistic distortion and lighting.

Do I need Photoshop to use your mockups?

For full editing capabilities, you'll need Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 or newer. However, every mockup includes a high-quality JPG file that you can use immediately without any software—perfect for quick previews or if you don't have Photoshop.

I've never used Photoshop before. Is this difficult?

Not at all! Our mockups are designed to be beginner-friendly. We provide simple 3-step instructions, and the Smart Object technology does all the complex work for you. We also offer YouTube tutorials to walk you through the process. If you can copy and paste, you can use our mockups!

How long does it take to create a mockup?

Once you're familiar with the process, it takes about 2-3 minutes per mockup. The first time might take 5-10 minutes as you learn the workflow, but after that, it's incredibly fast—especially compared to setting up and photographing products yourself!

Files & Delivery

What files do I receive when I purchase a mockup?

You'll receive:

  • PSD file(s) with Smart Object layers for full customization in Photoshop
  • High-resolution JPG file(s) for quick use without editing
  • UK supplier details so you can source the exact product featured in the mockup
  • Instructions for easy setup and use

How will I receive my files?

You'll receive a secure download link via email within 24 hours of purchase. The link will remain active for 30 days, giving you plenty of time to download your files.

What if I don't receive my download link?

First, check your spam/junk folder—sometimes emails end up there. If you still can't find it after 24 hours, please contact us via email support@bulkmade.com with your order number, and we'll resend it immediately.

Can I download the files more than once?

Yes! Your download link remains active for 30 days, so you can download the files multiple times if needed. We recommend saving the files to your computer and creating a backup copy.

What file format are the mockups?

Mockups are provided as:

  • .PSD files (Photoshop Document) with Smart Object layers
  • .JPG files (high-resolution JPEG images)

Using Your Mockups

What's a Smart Object and why does it matter?

A Smart Object is a special Photoshop layer that automatically fits and distorts your design to match the product surface. This creates realistic perspective and authentic lighting—making your mockup look like a real photograph of your finished product.

Can I change the background or styling?

The mockups are professionally styled and photographed as complete scenes. While you can't change the background in the standard files, you can:

  • Purchase mockups with transparent backgrounds (where available)
  • Choose from our various styling collections (Dark Vintage, Natural Botanicals, etc.) to match your brand aesthetic

What design file types can I use?

You can use any image file format that Photoshop supports, including:

  • PNG (recommended for designs with transparency)
  • JPG/JPEG
  • SVG (vector files)
  • AI (Adobe Illustrator files)

My design doesn't fit properly. What should I do?

The Smart Object automatically scales and distorts your design, but you may need to:

  1. Resize your design before placing it in the Smart Object
  2. Check the design area dimensions (we provide these in the product description)
  3. Adjust positioning within the Smart Object layer

Can I create multiple variations with one mockup?

Absolutely! That's the beauty of mockup templates. You can create unlimited product images using the same mockup file—just swap out your design in the Smart Object layer each time. Perfect for showcasing different designs, colours, or personalisation options.

Will the mockup match the actual product I sell?

Yes! We include UK supplier details with every mockup so you can source the exact same product featured in the photograph. This ensures your mockup accurately represents what customers will receive.

Technical Requirements

What version of Photoshop do I need?

You need Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 or newer (the subscription version). Older versions and Photoshop Elements do not fully support Smart Objects and may not work properly with our mockups.

Do your mockups work on Mac and PC?

Yes! Our PSD files work on both Mac and Windows computers, as long as you have a compatible version of Photoshop installed.

Can I use Photoshop alternatives like GIMP or Affinity Photo?

Unfortunately, no. Our mockups are specifically designed for Adobe Photoshop and use Smart Object technology that isn't fully supported by other software. However, you can use the included JPG files with any image viewer or basic editing software.

What resolution are the final mockup images?

All mockups are high-resolution and suitable for both web and print use. Typical output files are 2-5 MB JPG images with professional-quality detail.

License & Usage

Can I use these mockups for commercial purposes?

Yes! Our mockups come with a single-user commercial license, which means you can:

  • Create product images for your own business
  • Use images on your website, Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, social media, and marketing materials
  • Generate unlimited final images for your shop listings
  • Sell physical products created using these mockups

Can I use mockups for client work?

No. The single-user commercial license is for your own business only. You cannot create mockups for clients, use them in a design agency, or offer mockup creation as a service to others.

Can I resell or redistribute the mockup files?

No. You cannot share, resell, redistribute, or give away the PSD or JPG mockup files in any form. This includes uploading them to file-sharing sites, including them in bundles, or providing them to others.

What if I have multiple businesses or Etsy shops?

You'll need to purchase a separate license for each business. The single-user license covers one business entity only.

Products & Suppliers

Are these real products or CGI/3D renders?

Every mockup is studio photographed with real, physical products. We don't use CGI or 3D renders—you're seeing authentic texture, lighting, and material finishes. This is what makes our mockups so realistic!

Why do you include supplier details?

We want you to be able to source the exact same product featured in the mockup. This ensures your customers receive exactly what they see in your listing images, building trust and reducing returns or complaints.

Are the suppliers UK-based only?

Currently, most of our featured suppliers are UK-based, as that's our primary market. However, many suppliers ship internationally, and we're expanding to include USA and Australian suppliers in the coming year.

What if the supplier stops carrying the product?

We regularly update our mockup library and monitor supplier availability. If a product is discontinued, we'll note this in the listing and may offer alternative mockup options. Your purchased files remain yours to use regardless of supplier changes.

Styling & Collections

What are styling collections?

Our mockups are organized into curated aesthetic collections like Dark Vintage, Natural Botanicals, Summer Florals, and Dark Gothic. Each collection features consistent styling, colours, and mood—making it easy to create a cohesive brand look across all your product listings.

Can I request a specific product or styling?

We're always expanding our library based on customer feedback! While we can't take custom requests at this time (to keep Emma from being overwhelmed!), we'd love to hear what products and styles you'd like to see. Email us at creativehelp@bulkmade.com with your suggestions.

Do you add new mockups regularly?

Yes! We're adding new mockup templates daily. We also create seasonal collections (Christmas, Halloween, Mother's Day, etc.) planned 4+ months in advance.

Refunds & Support

What is your refund policy?

Due to the nature of digital products, all sales are final. Once you receive the download link, we cannot offer refunds. Please review the product description, preview images, and technical requirements carefully before purchasing.

What if the files are corrupted or won't open?

If you experience technical issues with your files, please contact us immediately at support@bulkmade.com. We'll troubleshoot the issue and provide replacement files if necessary. Technical issues are covered—we want you to be able to use what you purchased!

I'm having trouble with Photoshop. Can you help?

We're happy to help with mockup-specific questions (how to use Smart Objects, design placement, etc.), but we can't provide general Photoshop training or troubleshooting. We recommend Adobe's official tutorials or YouTube for Photoshop basics.
